Raspberry Protein Yogurt Bowl for Women Over 50 (Easy High-Protein Breakfast)

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Most women over 50 don’t eat nearly enough protein at breakfast — and it’s the meal that sets up your whole day. This bowl fixes that in five minutes flat.

It’s 28 grams of protein with the fiber and crunch to make it feel like a treat: creamy yogurt, sweet-tart raspberries, peanut butter, and a little crunch on top. Breakfast that tastes like dessert and works like fuel.

No cooking, no blender, no excuses — just a fast, satisfying way to start strong.

A Breakfast That Hits Your Protein Before 9 a.m.

Front-loading protein early helps you hold onto muscle, steady your energy, and stop the mid-morning grazing before it starts. This bowl gets you most of the way to a solid protein target in one quick, delicious step — the easiest win of your day.

How Much Protein Do Women Over 50 Need at Breakfast?

Aiming for roughly 25 to 30 grams at breakfast is a smart target for protecting muscle as we age — and most cereal-and-toast breakfasts don’t come close. This bowl lands right in that range, which is why it keeps you full for hours instead of leaving you hungry by ten.

Is Greek Yogurt Good for Weight Loss?

It’s one of the best foods for it. Greek yogurt is packed with protein for very few calories, keeps you full, and supports your gut — all things that make staying lean easier. Add a scoop of protein powder and you turn a good breakfast into a great one.

Ingredients

  • 200g plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp crushed nuts or granola

How to Make It

Step 1: Add the Greek yogurt to a bowl and spoon the protein powder on top.

Step 2: Mix thoroughly with a fork or small whisk, pressing out any clumps against the side of the bowl until completely smooth and thick.

Step 3: If it’s too stiff, add a small splash of milk and stir until creamy but still spoonable.

Step 4: Taste, and add a tiny drizzle of honey if you want it sweeter.

Step 5: Top with the raspberries, drizzle the peanut butter, sprinkle the chia seeds, and finish with the crushed nuts or granola right before eating so they stay crunchy.

Chef Tips

  • Press the protein powder against the bowl as you stir to break up clumps for a smooth base.
  • Add the granola or nuts right before eating so they stay crunchy.
  • Frozen raspberries work great and give it a cool, sorbet-like edge.

  • 1/2 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen

  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp crushed nuts or granola

Instructions

Add your Greek yogurt to a bowl and spoon in your protein powder on top
  • Mix them together thoroughly using a fork or small whisk, pressing out any clumps of protein powder against the side of the bowl as you go until the mixture is completely smooth and thick with no lumps at all
  • If the mixture feels too thick and stiff, add a very small splash of milk and stir again until it loosens up to a creamy consistency that is thick but still spoonable
  • Taste the yogurt base at this point, and if you want it slightly sweeter, add a tiny drizzle of honey before adding your toppings>
  • Spoon your raspberries over the top, drizzle the peanut butter across everything, sprinkle the chia seeds evenly, and finish with your crushed nuts or granola right before eating so they stay crunchy

Notes

◆ Why this works for fat loss

The high protein and fiber combination in this bowl is genuinely one of the best things you can eat when a sweet craving hits. It satisfies the need for something indulgent while keeping you aligned with your goals and full enough that you are not reaching for more food 20 minutes later.

Somewhere along the way, so many of us were taught Somewhere along the way, so many of us were taught that after 50, you’re just supposed to slow down and settle for what your body is because its “too late”. That the strong, capable version of yourself was something from your past.

Aging is a gift. Don’t let your age limit you💪🔥 Aging is a gift.

Don’t let your age limit you💪🔥

“It’s too late. I’m too old. It’s not possible at my age.” These thoughts aren’t just limiting, they’re lying to you.

We aren’t just aging. We’re aging based on what we expect. So I choose to expect more.

At 62, I’m keeping up with my grandkids. I’m moving pain free, and I’m stronger than I was a decade ago. I didn’t get lucky, I showed up for myself consistently and refused to let a number define what I was capable of.

Aging is universal, but how you age is entirely up to you.

It’s never too late. Not at 49. Not at 50. Not at 62. Not ever❤️

If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it ❤️

The Strong in 30 Challenge starts August 3rd - 30 days of workouts built for women over 50 who are ready to show themselves what they’re made of.

Comment THIRTY and let’s do this together ❤️💪
